Anyone who knows me knows I’m a sucker for a good chili dog, and my hubs is a sucker for a good burger! Are you a sucker too? We found a great place right here in Lakeland!

Jeremy and Leah Brumley just opened Grievous Angel here in town on the corner of Main St and S Lake Ave, right across from the Lake Mirror Complex!

Honestly, this makes a great date night idea. Fill your belly with a great smash burger and enjoy a stroll around the lake.

This place screams “cool vibes” with its country rock theme. 😎 In fact, the name comes from one of Polk County’s legendary musicians, Gram Parsons. Gram brought his spin on a blend of country and rock music back in the early 70’s.

The food has its own unique take on a traditional smash burger and chili dog, but mouthwatering all the same. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and they also have a small bar.

Here are 5 Reasons to Pack Your Bags and Move to Polk County:

1) Location. Polk County is primarily smaller towns in between Orlando and Tampa. Towns like Lakeland, Winter Haven, Polk City, Auburndale, Haines City, Lake Wales, Mulberry and Bartow. This gives folks a chance to enjoy a slower, small town pace of life while still having the convenience of bigger cities just a short drive away. Plus, either coast less than two hours away if you’re wanting a little beach day.

2) Lakeland International Airport. It may be small, but it is super convenient! You can fly Avelo with several connections to cities around the East coast and Texas. Plus, it hosts the annual Sun and Fun Airplane Show.

3) Lake Living. If you love the water, but not necessarily the “salt life” then Polk County is for you with over 550 lakes! It’s really a freshwater fisherman’s dream.

4) Job opportunities. Several large companies like Amazon and Publix call Polk County home. We also have two fantastic large hospitals: Lakeland Regional and Orlando Health. And the area has tons of warehousing and trucking jobs available.

5) Outdoor Life. If you love hiking, biking, walking trails or taking in the Florida wildlife, there is lots to enjoy! Bonnet Springs Park, Circle B Bar Reserve, Bok Tower Gardens, Fort Fraser Trail are just a few of the great spots to check out.

Texas Cattle Company - Lakeland here in Lakeland right off Main Street is one of my favorite spots to go for a nice dinner! It’s been here since 1973…and so have I, so I figured it was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday 🥳

Fair warning: Do not come here unless you are HUNGRY. You get a great bang for your buck here and the portions are very healthy!

We started with apps and my personal favorite is the Cajun Mushrooms. I can’t explain, just order them and you’ll understand why I love them! Trust me!

Texas Cattle Company is known for their steaks, so I ordered the Petite Filet and my husband got The Cowgirl. All their steaks are wood grilled and the flavor is amazing!

A birthday dinner isn’t complete without dessert, so we split the Salted Caramel Cheesecake. It was the perfect finish to a delicious meal!

I know I’m not the only birthday they’ve seen since 1973, but they sure do make you feel special. They take $25 off your entree on your birthday! So I definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone’s birthday celebration!

The Texas Cattle Company is a staple here in Lakeland. Our community is lucky to have a true family owned, high end restaurant right here in town for the last 53 years.

Thank you to amazing LOCAL businesses like this one that make our community a great place to live (and celebrate birthdays)! ♥️

Help me congratulate Lakeland’s newest first-time homeowners! 🎉 These two worked hard at saving their money for a down payment. They took their time shopping the market for a home they could really see themselves in for a while. And they dove into understanding the mortgage process.

This didn’t all happen in a few months. It took a few years. A few years on their part making plans and doing everything right! So when they started looking? They were truly READY.

One of my past clients initially introduced us, and we hit the ground running. Three showings later, they found the one.

Sometimes it takes a few showings, and sometimes it takes dozens, but I’m here for whatever it takes. No pressure!

The real work begins once the contract is signed. So many deadlines to meet and, yes, we had a few bumps in the road that required negotiating. But we sailed right through it and completed the goal.

It’s such a blessing to have helped them navigate all the steps and realize a dream they worked so hard for.

They are now building their own wealth by finally owning their own HOME.

Honestly, closing day pics are my favorite because I get to feel the joy in their smiling faces.
