This last week, I went on a work trip with my husband. He’s the Dispatch Superintendent for Publix Supermarkets and they sent him to Daytona Beach for the State Truck Driver Championship. It was a quick “YES” to the trip for me. 😃 Daytona is a nostalgic place for me.

When I was a teenager, we used to come to Daytona for spring break every year. And like any good 80s teenager, a trip to Daytona meant a trip to the Salty Dog Surf Shop. We all had the t-shirt to prove it, too.

So this year, I couldn’t resist getting a Salty Dog Surf Shop t-shirt to commemorate America’s 250th birthday… and to feel a little bit like a teenager again. LOL!

While I worked from an ocean-view room, I’m proud to report that the Publix team took first place in the large teams division and several of their drivers got awards!

My husband’s been with Publix for nearly 40 years now, so it feels like celebrating with family! Thankful for a fun weekend with my husband and a first-place finish for Publix!
