An insurance village is set to open at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland to help Polk County residents who need assistance filing insurance claims.

RP Funding Center - 701 West Lime St., Lakeland.

Insurance village opening times:
📅 Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
📅 Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 16, seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until further notice.

Policyholders can meet with their insurance carriers in person and work together to file insurance claims. Policyholders should bring as much documentation as they can, including:

✔️ A driver’s license or other form of identification (Passport/State issued ID).
✔️ Insurance cards and insurance policy information/documentation.
✔️ Pictures or documentation of the property being claimed as a loss resulting from Hurricane Helene and/or Hurricane Milton.
✔️Repair estimates.
✔️Any additional insurance-related information that is readily accessible.

Due to space limitations, the insurance village will exclusively focus on insurance-related issues. Staff from other agencies will not be present to assist with other post-storm benefits. For more information, visit www.FloridaDisaster.org.

Good afternoon, we hope you're all safe.

PCPS continues to assess the condition of our schools and check on our staff. At this time, we have not reached a decision about school operations resuming on Monday, Oct. 14.

We will not have an answer until sometime this weekend — perhaps even Sunday. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to safely reopen our schools.
