Over the past thirteen years we have completed over 900 total projects ranging from medical, fitness, retail, office, hospitality, residential, religious, and educational which have accounted for over $500,000,000.00 in construction cost. This week, HCEDC's Board and community stakeholders are gathering at the Haines City EOC for a Strategic Planning Session shaping our direction for 2026–2030. This plan will be built around five pillars: Industrial & Business Recruitment, Infrastructure Advocacy, Workforce & Education Partnerships, Legislative & Policy Advocacy, and Organizational Capacity & Governance.

Economic development rarely makes headlines. It's rail easements, water capacity studies, incentive negotiations, and rooms full of planning sessions like this one. But that unglamorous groundwork is exactly what shapes what Northeast Polk County becomes over the next five, ten, twenty years, for Haines City's tax base, for the region's workforce pipeline, and for the businesses who've already bet on this community.

Grateful for a Board and community that shows up for this work. More to come as the plan takes shape.
