🚨🚨ATTENTION TENANTS🚨🚨
Hello everyone,
As you may have seen in the forecast, Central Florida is expected to experience record cold temperatures this weekend. At the request of Lakeland Electric, we are sharing a few important reminders to help keep everyone safe and to reduce strain on the local power grid.
***INFOGRAPHICS PROVIDED***
🌡️Thermostat Settings
Lakeland Electric is asking customers to keep heat settings at or below 68°F during this cold event. Higher settings significantly increase demand and raise the risk of brownouts or outages affecting the community.

⛔️Please Do NOT Use Stoves or Ovens for Heat
Using a stove or oven to heat your home is extremely dangerous and, in some cases, life-threatening. It can cause carbon monoxide buildup, fire hazards, and also places additional strain on the power system. This is never a safe alternative to home heating.
👏Safer Ways to Stay Warm:
🧣Dress in layers (especially overnight)
🛌Use extra blankets or a heated blanket (we personally use this one https://a.co/d/eUKmJzQ and find it very effective)
🔥If needed, use small, UL-approved space heaters responsibly:
🔌Plug directly into a wall outlet
3️⃣ Keep at least 3 feet from anything flammable
🙅🏻♀️ Never leave unattended or running while sleeping

Our goal is to help everyone stay warm safely, while doing our part to prevent service interruptions across Lakeland. 🧤🧣🧥🧦

Stay warm,
