His film credits range from cameraman for various Discovery Channel programs to “sailor” on “Pirates of the Caribbean.” You might catch his documentary “Letters to Santa” on PBS around the holidays! Kaleb also has over 20 years of experience in the building trades. He has worked as a lead journeyman carpenter on numerous multimillion dollar commercial and residential projects across the island of Maui and throughout Alaska. 🎃 Halloween Experiment Results: 🥔🍜🍬
Potato vs. Ramen vs. Candy!

This year we tried something a little different for Halloween: instead of just handing out candy, we let people choose between potatoes, ramen, and candy — and we tracked the results in real time.

We didn't start with equal amounts of each item (rookie mistake), so we paused the initial count once we ran out of ramen. We began the night with 162 packs of ramen, and when the ramen supply finally hit zero, here’s where we stood:

🥔 Potatoes: 118
🍜 Ramen (all gone): 162
🍬 Candy: 229

👨‍🏫 Now here’s where it gets interesting:
If you think candy would be the obvious runaway winner because, well… Halloween + sugar… you’d be wrong. When you combine ramen + potatoes, the total (162 + 118 = 280) beats candy by 51 votes — that’s about 22% more than candy. So the “savory coalition” actually won! 🧠🤣

You could even think of potatoes as the “third-party candidate” that split the vote — probably stealing a good chunk of support from ramen. Because once ramen ran out, we kept counting just to see where people stood in a head-to-head between candy and potatoes.
Here's what happened next:

🥔 Potatoes: 66
🍬 Candy: 72

Pretty close! Which makes me think, 🤔 If it had been just ramen vs. candy, ramen might have actually won. 📊 More data (and more ramen) definitely needed next year!

Takeaways:
👧 Kids love weird options.
💪 Savory choices are way more competitive than you’d think.
👨‍⚕️ I got way too into this and basically forgot I was promoting my real estate business. 😂 And honestly? Totally worth it. Handing out oddball Halloween items has been one of my lifelong ambitions — and I finally got to do it without my kids missing out on trick-or-treating. ✅️
🙌 The community loved it, the reactions were hilarious, and I’d absolutely do it again.
