Hear me out.
I understand that some parts of real estate are a waiting game. There are regulations, underwriting requirements, timelines and things that are completely outside of any one person’s control.
What I have a harder time with is making promises before knowing whether you can actually keep them.
Because when people are literally in between homes, sellers are making plans around closing dates, movers are scheduled, money is being transferred and multiple transactions are depending on one another… “we’re waiting to hear back” stops feeling like a good enough answer.
And sometimes the BEST thing a lender, agent, title rep or anyone else involved can say is, “I can’t get this done in that timeline.”
I will respect that answer 100x more than someone saying yes and trying to limp their way to the finish line while everyone else deals with the consequences.
It’s also why I talk so much about choosing your team carefully. A real estate transaction has a lot of moving pieces, and when you put a bunch of people together who have never worked together, don’t know each other’s processes or simply don’t communicate well, one little issue can turn into a very big one very quickly.
The right team doesn’t mean nothing will ever go wrong.
It means when something DOES go wrong, you have people who communicate, tell the truth, pick up the phone, find solutions and keep pushing until we get everyone home. 🤍
And if that requires me working my way through the entire corporate org chart… apparently that’s what we’re doing. 😂
