I believe the second, most important investment a person can make is an investment in their community. (The first most important is a house!) Over the past eight years, I’ve invested my time and resources to improve the lives of the homeless and working poor in Jefferson County through a nonprofit called The Action Center (theactioncenterco.org). As a volunteer and board member of this organization, I feel privileged to be part of a movement to enable self-sufficiency among people struggling to make ends meet. From collecting school supplies and food for families in need to fundraising, I enjoy every bit of my work with The Action Center. My community involvement also encompasses the following organizations and initiatives:
