Today, I showed a house that was a little different from all the others.
Nearly 60 years ago, my mom and her siblings lived in this very house. ❤️
My grandmother told my uncle that they bought it for $9,500 and later sold it for $11,000.
There was something pretty special about walking through those rooms today knowing my mom once walked through them as a little girl. A house that was simply part of my family's everyday life all those years ago became part of my workday today.
It made me think about how much more a home is than what it sells for.
Families grow up there. Kids run through the rooms. Holidays happen. Ordinary Tuesdays happen. Memories are made that people are still talking about nearly 60 years later.
And then one day, another family gets the keys and starts adding their own chapter.
I show a lot of houses, but I don't think I'll forget showing this one. ❤️
Sometimes real estate has a funny way of reminding you that we're not just buying and selling property.
We're passing along places that hold people's stories.
If you could walk through one home from your childhood or your family's past just one more time, which home would it be and what memory would you hope to find waiting for you there? ❤️
