Property reassessment notices are officially hitting mailboxes this month.
Before you look at the new number and stress out, remember a couple of things:
• It’s not an automatic tax hike. The county has to adjust overall tax rates downward to keep things neutral.
•You only have 40 days to appeal. If you think the county overvalued what your home could actually sell for, the clock starts ticking the day they mail it.
