Why Lancaster? Not only does Lancaster have a market rating of 93, according to AirDNA, but here’s some other things you may not know:
Feb 24th will be Lancaster’s first Winter Brewfest, featuring 25 different breweries and distilleries from all around Ohio. These businesses will bring in many of their own clients, who will be needing a place to stay.
In April, Double Edge Brewing will host their 6th anniversary celebration. Last year they drew a crowd of over 1000 people.
Also in April is a huge solar eclipse that will cross over a portion of Ohio. The last time a full solar eclipse went over Ohio was in 1806, and the next one won’t take place until 2099. The last full solar eclipse visible in the US was in 2017. To give an example of the impact to states located along the path, South Carolina received approximately 1.6 million visitors, who spent about $269 million. Even though Fairfield Co will be outside the path of totality, there will be a need across the state for lodging.
In June, David, owner of Gay Fad Studios, a high end barware company in Lancaster, will be hosting the first Mid Century Modern convention in Lancaster. Most of these conventions take place out west, with Chicago being the closest one. One of the largest annual conventions is in Palm Springs, which received 125,000 attendees. David has been building relationships with artisans in Palm Springs, and is working to bring as many of them here in June as possible.
The Lancaster Artwalk, held every July, had over 20,000 attendees in 2023. This was pulled from cell phone data that excluded people who work and/or live downtown, and would also not include children or adults without cell phones.
These are just the events taking place over the next six months. If you’re interested in learning more about the tourism impact and need for lodging in Lancaster, or additional details regarding these events, I’ll be happy to provide the resources and data. And let me know if you want to check out this property! It’s also just minutes from our local hospital, which means it could also make a great mid-term rental during the off season.
