ALLIANCE AGAINST FAMILY VIOLENCE - CELL PHONE & SMART DEVICE DRIVE ANNOUNCEMENT
Lansing Police Department is serving as a drop-off location for the Cell Phone & Smart Device Drive for the Alliance Against Family Violence. You are welcome to drop off devices Monday - Friday from 8-5 at the Lansing Police Department located at 800 1st Terrace. Our offices will be closed for Martin Luther King Jr Day (01/15) and President's Day (2/19), so don't plan for those days.

Today, we celebrate the unsung hero of quick and delicious meals—the microwave oven! To honor Microwave Oven Day, we invite you to share your favorite microwave recipes, tips, or creative meal hacks in the comments below.

We’ll start! Microwave Mug Brownie

4 tbsp flour

3-4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

3 tbsp dark brown sugar

Pinch of salt

6 tbsp milk

2 tbsp oil (canola, vegetable, sunflower)

½ tsp vanilla extract

1 tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions 1. Mix the flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, and salt in a microwavable mug. 2. Mix the milk, oil, and vanilla extract into your dry ingredients until you form your batter. 3. Mix in the chocolate chips 4. Microwave for 1 minute and 40 seconds to 1 minute and 50 seconds or until it has risen and the batter doesn’t look wet. 5. Serve with ice cream and enjoy!
