The Dean is developed by River Caddis Communities, the affordable housing arm of River Caddis Group — 204 mixed-income homes on the site of the former East Lawn Elementary School, with first delivery on track for fall 2026.

This summer, River Caddis Management was represented on the national stage at the Station Design Conference in Phoenix by Dan Wisinski, our VP of Construction. Dan shared insights on the critical role an Owner’s Representative plays in fire station and public safety projects; serving as an advocate focused solely on the owner’s mission, safeguarding budgets, managing schedules, and navigating change orders and cost risks with precision.

We’re grateful to have leaders like Dan helping bring RCM’s expertise to departments and municipalities across the country. His contribution reflects the commitment, professionalism, and value River Caddis Management brings to every project we support.

We're honored to serve the City of Lansing, Michigan - Government as its owner representative on this monumental project — and this is just the beginning. Thank you to the Lansing State Journal for covering the first ribbon cutting featuring Fire Station 2! We're excited for all of the unveilings to come.

The previous Fire Station 2 at 2114 N. Grand River Ave. was too small for an ambulance. The new station has space for a firetruck and an ambulance.

Over 70 people joined us this past Friday to celebrate officially breaking ground for The Dean — Apartments at Eastlawn. Our team was proud to witness how many different people have had their hands in moving this project forward through all of its different stages, and we’re so excited to keep the forward momentum.

In partnership with Capital Area Housing Partnership, we are proud to announce the closing of financing for The Dean – Apartments at Eastlawn, a $59 million affordable and workforce housing development that will transform a former school site into a vibrant new community.

Over the past year, River Caddis Communities has successfully closed financing for 432 new homes, a milestone that underscores our mission to provide safe and dignified housing options that empower families across mid-Michigan.
