CAUTIONARY TALE ARE YOU PAYING NON-HOMESTEAD OR HOMESTEAD TAXES PLEASE READ ON-

Recently I was doing a Market Analysis for some past clients who wanted to list their house and found their homes were non-homestead one for 3 years the other for 5 years. They had taken the papers to the township after they closed had their copies stamp and thought the property was now homestead.

I took the stamped papers to each township involved. One was a clerical error and the other a system. The townships are taking these cases to the tax tribunal this month and will get a refund of taxes for these home owners.

But wait I had lived in my home for 25 years with taxes homestead then I opened my tax statement from the township and my taxes were non-homestead, ALWAYS READ YOUR TAX STATEMENT FROM THE TOWNSHIP. The mistakes can be corrected.
