Let’s break down some rate buydown options!

We’ve all heard of the most popular option in the 2/1 buydown…but have you heard of some of these other variations?

These temporary rate buydowns are available in Conventional, FHA or VA loan products, and a great use of seller concessions or builder paid incentives to get you over the hump before the next refinance boom!

3-2-1 buydown: A buydown of 3% in the first year, 2% in the second year, 1% in the third year, then back to the original locked rate in the fourth year for the duration of the term.
2-1 buydown: A buydown of 2% in the first year and 1% in the second year, then back to the original locked rate in the third year for the duration of the term.
