💰 What is ESCROW? (And why did my mortgage go up? 😅)

If you’re a homeowner or planning to buy, this is something you NEED to understand 👇

When you purchase a home, your lender usually sets up an escrow account—basically a savings account they manage for you.

Each month, part of your payment goes toward:
✔️ Property Taxes
✔️ Home Insurance

Then when those bills are due… they pay them for you.

Sounds simple, right? Here’s the part that surprises people 👇

⚠️ Your payment can CHANGE.

If your property taxes or insurance increase, your monthly mortgage can go up too—this is called an escrow shortage.

So even if your loan stays the same, your payment might not.

✨ Pro tip: Always budget a little cushion for increases year to year.
