A goal for 2022 is to read more books. So, I linked up with a girlfriend from college and we started our own two person book club. She was the brave one to organize the reading book list for the year; and, we tackled our first book in January. A little behind on finishing, but I’m super happy to say that my first book for the year is complete! Now I am doubling up on books for the month of March.
So cheers to completing New York Times best seller Professional Troublemaker! Here are a few quotes from the book that deserved a highlight:
“Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can’t practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage.”
“Often times, when we want something that doesn’t come with a manual, we are afraid of it, because we could lose our way since there’s no map. Well, maybe we are supposed to draw the map, so someone who comes behind is won’t get lost. Create the map you didn’t have. That’s what I did. We must give ourselves permission to be who we want to be, even if we don’t have the blueprint yet, and that starts with dreaming.”
“When you choose to let fear keep you in your comfort zone, you might think that you’re avoiding disappointment when what you are really doing is choosing that path, because you will know that you aren’t getting what you want and need. The no will not kill you, but the yes could save you.”
