A home can look beautiful at first glance while still having issues that deserve a closer look. 🏡

During a tour, look beyond the staging and finishes. Check for water stains, musty odors, significant cracks, uneven floors, electrical concerns, aging equipment and poor exterior drainage.

Finding one of these signs does not automatically mean you should walk away. It means you should ask questions, review available records and have the concern evaluated by a qualified professional.

A home tour helps you decide whether you love the property. A professional inspection helps you better understand what you may be buying.

Las Vegas will welcome a new culinary and beverage festival from September 24 through 27.

Drink Las Vegas is expected to include more than 50 events across Bellagio, ARIA, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and Park MGM. Programming will range from chef dinners and cocktail classes to tastings, seminars, and specialty experiences.

Participating culinary and hospitality personalities are expected to include Roy Choi, Jon Taffer, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and Michael Mina. Tickets will vary by event, allowing locals to choose one experience instead of purchasing a full festival package.

The inaugural festival will also benefit Keep Memory Alive and brain-health research at Cleveland Clinic Nevada.⁠⁠⁠

Buddy Valastro has opened a tapas-style speakeasy inside his Italian restaurant at the Venetian. Hidden in the back of the restaurant behind a family portrait, Dolce Notte, which means “sweet night,” has been designed to offer a more casual cocktail experience with small plates and desserts. Guests slipping in through a movable wall find an intimate room with green banquettes, cafe tables, and walls full of photos. The menu contains about a dozen dishes that include a charcuterie board, mini ribeye panini, and lobster fritto misto. For dessert, diners can find a lemon mousse, a vanilla sponge cake with strawberry rhubarb jam, and a plate of assorted sweet treats.⁠⁠⁠⁠

Not every room deserves the same portion of your preparation budget.

Start with the areas buyers see first and use most often: the entrance, living room, kitchen, primary bedroom, and primary bathroom. These rooms will also play a significant role in your listing photographs.

For example, a kitchen may not require new cabinetry. Cleaning the cabinet doors, replacing damaged hardware, repairing grout, removing items from the counters, and updating an old light fixture may be enough to improve its presentation.

A bathroom may benefit more from new caulking, fresh towels, brighter lighting, and a thorough cleaning than from a rushed renovation.⁠⁠⁠⁠

Nightlife aficionado Scott Sartiano has brought two of his famous New York City celebrity hangouts to Wynn Las Vegas. Overlooking the resort’s golf course, his namesake restaurant, Sartiano’s Italian Steakhouse, opened March 4, along with its companion members-only club Zero Bond. Under the direction of three-time James Beard Award–winning chef Alfred Portale, executive chef Michael Rubinstein follows the philosophy that has made Sartiano’s at the Mercer hotel a success. That starts with the wet- and dry-aged bistecca, including a 40-ounce dry-aged bistecca Fiorentina that gets carved tableside, and American wagyu sourced from Idaho and Texas. The menu, full of upscale takes on Italian American classics, includes caviar cannoli with whipped mascarpone, fluke crudo with jalapeño and cucumber, and pastas such as fettuccine Alfredo alla Romana, served tableside for two.⁠⁠⁠⁠
