So that’s why I’m getting you in the loop now!

Starting your home buying journey can be overwhelming–there’s so much to learn and so many different things you have to keep in mind when you start your search. But these 4 things are the foundation of what you need to know to be successful!

First, you want to find the home that’s right for you and your budget–sometimes that means compromising, so get prepared! You’ll also want to pay careful attention to the location that you decide you want to buy in.

Knowing your budget and getting a number from a lender is key to ensuring that you find a house that fits your financial situation and doesn’t make you house poor. Of course, doing all of this is so much easier with the right real estate agent on your side!

Buying a home, especially now, can be overwhelming and tiring. That’s why it’s critical to take care of yourself during the process.

But it’s not all spa days over here. Instead, I highly encourage my buyers to focus on the things they can control and that will make their lives easier!

This looks like getting crystal clear on your budget and what you can afford before starting the house hunt.

It also looks like getting educated and knowing about the real estate process so you’re not taken by surprise when the closing process takes weeks or months.

Of course, having a supportive, trustworthy agent will make the process so much easier and smoother.

Getting pre-approved before starting your house hunt is key to becoming a successful homeowner. But sometimes it’s hard to figure out exactly what documents you need to bring to your lender to start the pre-approval process.

So I put this handy checklist together for you! Save this post and reference it as you go through your financial docs. Then just check the things off as you collect what you need!

It’s also helpful to remember to grab anything that helps a lender get a full picture of your financial history and current situation. You might need it later for your mortgage application, so it’s a great idea to get things organized and collected before the rush of the closing period.
