This directly affects the housing market by making entry-level homes $8b more expensive for those who would otherwise be affording homes this year.
I moved to Las Vegas when good entry-level homes were 70k. Those same homes are now over 300k. Most of the people I'm working with are looking for their first home and are in their late 30s. Vote differently.

Today, I will be looking for properties to buy. Anything I can afford. I don't see the downside from buying today. It's difficult at any point in history to look 10 years in the past and think "damn, I should have waited"

Many (most) buyers have decided to WAIT for interest rates to go down. If this is to save money on payments then LISTEN UP! Once those rates begin to lower you will be competing against everyone else who is waiting. That doesn't make it any easier for you, despite the lower rates! Let's have a sit-down and go over the numbers; how much money are you leaving on the table by waiting just one year to buy?
