🚨🏡TO ANYONE REQUESTING A FORBEARANCE ON THEIR MORTGAGE🏡🚨

If you are worried about how you are going to make your next mortgage payment and are trying to obtain a forbearance period from your mortgage servicer, please do not fall into the trap of having all of your mortgage payments during the forbearance period due at the end of the forbearance period (or in other words, you put a pause on your mortgage payments, and at the end of the period, all of your mortgage payments during that period are due on top of the next mortgage payment)! 😳😰👎🏼

The Federal Reserve just issued a statement yesterday basically threatening mortgage servicers to provide borrowers with a “good faith effort” and support borrowers with their loan modifications, or in other words, not make their payments due at the end of a forbearance period, and also ensure there would be no negative credit effects from such accommodations.

Please do your best to negotiate hard with these lenders to have your payments added to the end of your loan instead of making the paused payments due at the end of your forbearance period! Make sure you get an in writing repayment plan that you can work with!

Stand your ground and use the Federal Reserve statement requiring mortgage servicers to provide a “good faith effort” to help you actually be able to get through this period! On the recorded call, actually say something on the lines of, “I don’t feel like you are providing me with a good faith effort at helping me resolve this period of time that I can’t pay this mortgage.”

During this period of crisis we cannot afford to deal with unfair repayment plans as well, so stay safe out there and I hope this helps anyone that unfortunately has been affected by the coronavirus and is also having issues with their mortgage 🙏🏼
