What Can We Do the Beat the Heat?

💧 Stay Hydrated 💦
Drink plenty of Water and though soda, juice, wine and beer qualifies as a Liquid, nothing takes the place of Water. Dehydration can sneak up on you unexpectedly. Carry water with you regularly even when you think it will be a quick trip .

🪭💨 A/C make sure yours is working! Summer is the worst possible time for a breakdown. Don’t have one? I understand there are some great Portable Air Conditioners options.

😀 Be a Good Neighbor and Check on Yours, especially the elderly and those with medical conditions.

🚘 Your Car 🌞 .. In Hot Weather, Car Temps can easily get into the Low to Mid 100’s. The heat dries out your tires, increasing the risk of a crack or blowout, so get your tire pressure checked throughout the summer.

🚙 🌳When ever possible park in the shade and it would be smart to invest in a Sunshade for your Car.

🐶 👶 Double-Check Who’s in Your Car. Don’t even think about leaving pets or children in a parked car right now. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the shade or if the window is cracked. If you see someone in distress call police and/or animal control and wait until help arrives. For the record, it’s legal to break someone's car window to save a child, but not an animal.

🏠🚿🪭Keep Cool 💦 When the Sub is beating down on .. Find ways to take a Break. Take advantage of Air Conditioned Spaces; In door malls, libraries, casinos, commercial buildings and public cooling stations exist in clark county.

The Sun is great source for Vitamin D, but know when a good thing is too much. Health experts recommend the benefits of using sunscreen and limiting sun exposure this time of year.

City Of Las Vegas Offers Free Caribbean Heritage Festival April 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza in Lorenzi Park, 720 Twin Lakes Drive.
