October is here Las Vegas and you know what that means — it is finally acceptable to open our windows and doors without losing all the cool air we paid a fortune for all summer! 😂🎉🌵 This is honestly the most magical month in the desert and our homes deserve to be ready for every beautiful moment of it. This month flip your ceiling fans clockwise to circulate that gorgeous cool air through your home, test your heating system now so you are not scrambling when that first cold night hits in December, inspect and replace weatherstripping around all doors and windows to keep those energy bills low, and shut off any exterior water sources before an unexpected frost catches you off guard. And while you are at it — get those fall decorations up because nobody does a Vegas Halloween quite like our neighborhoods do! 🎃👻 What October home maintenance tasks are you tackling this month? September is here Las Vegas and fall is technically on the way — and yes, that means it might actually dip below 90° soon! 🎉🌵 This is the month to inspect your fireplace and chimney — and for most of us Vegas homeowners that means dusting off the remote control for our gas fireplace that hasn't been touched since last December! 😂🔥 But seriously, whether gas or wood burning, a quick inspection is always a smart move. This month also tackle pruning your desert trees, bushes and shrubs before the cooler months, install or replace gutter guards before fall winds kick in, and do a full exterior walk of your home to catch anything summer left behind.
