I AM LOVING my new ‘Slipper Plant’! It is famous for its bright green, vertical pencil-like✏️stems and unique shoe-👠or bird-shaped red-orange flowers! It adds such a fun, unique treat🥰to my front porch! The curly stems are uniquely enjoyable! A great trait is that this ‘Euphorbia lomelii’ blooms from late spring through the fall! It grows from 3 to 6 feet tall. Excited that this attracts sweet tiny hummingbirds- which are abundant in Las Vegas and enjoyable to watch!
There are many beautiful and unique drought tolerant plants to consider! Like this slipper plant, which thrives in full sun to partial shade AND has low watering needs! 🥳
You must be cautious on where to locate this plant! Not around pets. It does contain a milky white sap that is poisonous if ingested - No eating this plant! 🤪Yet, hummingbirds thrive on it! Also caution the sap can cause severe skin irritation or allergic reactions. These characteristics protect the plant. The focus is its brilliant and unique appearance and drought tolerant ability.
