🌕 THREE FULL MOONS ARE COMING — SEPTEMBER TO NOVEMBER 2026
The night sky has a beautiful lunar sequence ahead! ✨ Over the coming months, we’ll see three Full Moons—the Harvest Moon, Hunter’s Moon, and Beaver Moon—lighting up the evening skies.
🌕 1. Harvest Moon — September 26, 2026
The September Full Moon is traditionally called the Harvest Moon because it is the Full Moon closest to the September equinox. In New Delhi, it reaches full phase at approximately 10:19 PM IST on September 26.
The Harvest Moon is especially interesting because around this time of year the Moon can rise at relatively similar times on successive evenings, a feature historically useful to farmers working after sunset. 🌾🌕
🌕 2. Hunter’s Moon — October 26, 2026
The next Full Moon arrives on October 26 and is traditionally known as the Hunter’s Moon. The name follows the Harvest Moon and is associated with seasonal preparations for the coming winter.
For New Delhi, the Full Moon occurs at about 9:41 AM IST, so the evening of October 25 and the night of October 26 will both provide opportunities to enjoy the nearly full Moon.
🌕 3. Beaver Moon — November 24, 2026
The November Full Moon, traditionally called the Beaver Moon, occurs on November 24. In New Delhi, the exact Full Moon phase occurs at approximately 8:23 PM IST.
This November Full Moon is also notable because it is expected to be a supermoon—a Full Moon occurring close to the Moon's closest approach to Earth, making it appear somewhat larger and brighter than an average Full Moon.
🔭 What should you look for?
You don't need a telescope to enjoy these events.
🌕 Find an open location with a clear horizon
🌃 Move away from strong city lights if possible
📱 Use a tripod for sharper Moon photographs
🔭 Binoculars can reveal lunar surface details
📸 Try photographing the Moon near mountains, buildings or trees for scale
Remember: names such as Harvest Moon, Hunter’s Moon, and Beaver Moon are traditional names rather than different physical types of Moon. The Moon itself is the same natural satellite—we are simply using seasonal names for particular Full Moons.
