You’re likely already planning on repainting a few rooms to give the home a fresh look. When you choose colors, pick cool neutral tones.

A subtle accent wall can change the way the house feels or, at a minimum, add cooling colors in easy ways like throw pillows.

Keep in mind, buyers might not like a bold color so if you do repaint, it is best to go with neutral colors.

Thinking about selling your home in 2026? Here’s something worth knowing.

We’re starting to see an uptick in buyers cancelling their purchase agreements. While there can be several reasons this happens, one of the most common issues comes down to repairs discovered during the home inspection.

A smart strategy for sellers is to address known maintenance or repair issues before listing, or be prepared to reasonably work through repair requests once the inspection report comes in. Being proactive can help keep a transaction moving forward instead of losing a buyer.

Pro tip: If a repair issue is discovered during escrow and the buyer cancels, that issue doesn’t simply disappear. Sellers are typically required to disclose known defects on the Seller’s Real Property Disclosure form, and future buyers may ask about it as well.

Taking care of repairs early can help protect your sale, strengthen buyer confidence, and create a smoother closing process.
