Before you click that link, respond to the email, sign the contract, agree to the “quick fix,” or trust the person who sounds very official… ask someone you trust.
Because scams are getting GOOD.
Between fake emails, artificial intelligence, look-alike websites, wire fraud, confusing paperwork and people who know exactly how to create urgency, it is getting harder and harder to know what is real and what is not.
And I want to be the person my friends, family and clients feel comfortable texting with:
“Does this seem off to you?”
“Is this normal?”
“Should I sign this?”
“Can you look at this before I do anything?”
I may not always know the answer immediately, but I usually know who should be the next set of eyes.
Sometimes that is an attorney.
Sometimes it is a tax professional.
Sometimes it is a lender, title officer, insurance expert or someone else who lives in that lane every day.
The point is, you do not have to figure it all out alone.
And if something feels rushed, confusing, overly complicated, or a little too good to be true, it probably deserves a second look.
My job is not just opening doors and writing contracts. It is looking out for people before, during, and long after the sale.
So please hear me when I say this:
It is not bothering me.
It is not a dumb question.
It is not being dramatic.
Ask before you act.
I would rather look at something for five minutes, or connect you with the right professional, than have you spend months trying to undo something that never felt right in the first place.
Real estate, money, contracts, property, inheritance, retirement, family decisions…these are too important to rush through just because someone made it sound urgent.
When in doubt, pause. Take a breath. Ask questions. Call someone you trust.
And yes, I hope I am one of those people.
