At KW Military Community, we are committed to honoring those who serveโincluding our four-legged warriors. These military and law enforcement K9s spent years detecting explosives, tracking down threats, and saving lives. Now, they need a place to retire in peace.
We are partnering with the Warrior Dog Foundation to ensure these brave K9s receive the care, rehabilitation, and support they deserve. Right now, 30 retired K9s are in care, with 16 more waiting for placement.

๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Arko โ Took a bullet to the chest meant for soldiers behind him but refused to let go of his target until his handler arrived.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Carlos โ Survived an IED explosion that shattered his legs and collapsed his lungsโbut still crawled to protect his handler before being rescued.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Rex โ Stabbed multiple times and beaten unconscious with a baseball bat while taking down a violent suspect. He recovered and bravely returned to service.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Blackjack โ Diagnosed with C-PTSD after a traumatic explosion. After his handlerโs passing, he found safety at the Warrior Dog Foundation.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Ozzy โ An award-winning competitor in national K9 trials, known for his relentless drive and intense work ethic. He once saved his injured handler during an attic takedown.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Jax โ Took 1st place in a major K9 competition and later tracked a burglary suspect for nearly a mile, leading officers straight to the rooftop where he was hiding.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Jafo โ Helped solve a cold case, using his expert tracking abilities to locate human remains and bring closure to a grieving family.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Griz โ A master tracker and narcotics detection K9 who played a critical role in taking down criminals and seizing illegal substances.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Lennox โ A U.S. Air Force veteran who deployed to Iraq and Kuwait and even worked with Space Force.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Bear โ Served his community for years before retirement. Arrived at Warrior Dog Foundation needing multiple surgeries and rehabilitation.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Ben โ A guardian of dignitaries, serving alongside top U.S. leaders before retiring.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Gr**go โ Credited with over 100 criminal apprehensions, including working on POTUS security details at Mar-a-Lago.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Harry โ A high-drive narcotics detection K9 known for his stubborn personality and unwavering loyalty to his mission.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Igo โ A Secret Service K9 who provided security sweeps for POTUS, VPOTUS, and world leaders.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Chucky โ A certified patrol and narcotics detection K9, forced into early retirement due to a painful knee condition.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Dargo โ A highly trained explosive detection K9 who worked at one of Americaโs busiest international airports.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Denzel โ A Navy Multi-Purpose Canine (MPC) trained in rappelling, swimming, and fast-roping for high-risk missions.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Lenz โ A KNPV-certified law enforcement K9, known for his discipline and protection skills.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Kyra โ A dedicated explosive detection K9, conducting sweeps for POTUS and major international events like the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.
๐โ๐ฆบ MWD Beni โ Spent 10 years serving in Qatar and Kuwait, completing Secret Service missions.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Nico โ A Navy SEAL K9 who served two tours in the Middle East before finally reuniting with his handler.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 CAD Rocky โ A dominant and fearless Navy SEAL K9, who arrived at the Warrior Dog Foundation after a difficult transition from service.
๐โ๐ฆบ K9 Rocky (Italian Rocky) โ Served 8 years with the U.S. Air Force in Aviano, Italy, completing deployments and Secret Service missions.
