One thing I wish more first-time buyers knew: you don’t have to walk into a showing knowing what to look for.

That’s why having the right professionals around you is so important- to ask the right questions, find the answers, and help you understand what they actually mean for you.

There are things about a house that you may not notice just from scrolling through the listing, and some of them can make a BIG difference in what owning that home actually looks like.

So yes, look at the kitchen. Picture yourself living there. Open the closets. But also ask questions. Buying a home is about finding a home you love and making sure you’re informed and confident when it’s time to make a decision.

Homeowners have built a LOT of equity over the past several years, and seeing realbnumbers laid out like this is pretty eye-opening. ✨

I pulled together a few recent Clifton Park sales to show just how much some homeowners have gained in value over time.

A quick note: the difference between what someone bought for and what they sold for is not the same as the amount they walked away with. Closing costs, renovations, agent commissions, and any remaining mortgage balance all play a role.

Still… it’s pretty incredible to see how much the market has changed and how homeownership can build long-term wealth.

My first year in real estate, I didn’t sell a single home.

There were plenty of moments where quitting would’ve been easier. When you don’t have a guaranteed paycheck, it’s easy to question whether you’re on the right path.

But I made a promise to myself: there was no Plan B. I kept learning, showing up, and putting one foot in front of the other.

In 2025, I had the privilege of helping 17 clients buy/sell a home.

This isn’t to say success happens on a certain timeline. It’s a reminder that progress often happens quietly before anyone else can see it.
