1. Your money can go further.�The cost of living can be surprisingly low, especially depending on which part of the Lake you choose. And a lot of that comes down to what we don't have. Many areas don't have sidewalks, municipal sewer or water, or a long list of city maintained amenities. Private wells, septic systems & fewer services can help keep the carrying costs of owning here lower.
2. You can choose how much “civilization” you want.�This is one people don't realize. You can live close to shopping, restaurants & healthcare or go farther out where your money buys substantially more house, land & lakefront. Different parts of the Lake can offer VERY different lifestyles and price points.
3. Nature isn't somewhere you have to drive to.�In a city, you might drive to a park to get outside. Here, the trees, water, wildlife & sunsets are literally your backyard. Less screen time, more time outside without having to make an event out of it.
