Seems a little silly to be so sad about the passing of Dolly but she is so special to me. I think most people can say they felt her light in some way.

Dolly was a big part of my life from an early age and some of my favorite memories revolve around Dolly. My dad introduced me to her when I was young and I have vivid memories of listening to her music with him. I was even lucky enough to see her in concert when I was little. Growing up, I loved her song “Coat of Many Colors” so much that I even had my own coats of many colors. Looking back now, they weren’t the cutest but as Dolly would say, “I wore it proud and I was as rich as I could be in my coat of many colors.”

I grew up going to Dollywood and now I’m fortunate enough to take my kids there too. Our first dance at our wedding was to one of her songs. In so many ways, Dolly’s music has been apart of my life.

I think Dolly is special to me because of my dad. He passed away when I was 10 years old and listening to Dolly has always made me feel connected to him. Her music can take me right back to those sweet memories of being with my dad and that is something I’ll always treasure.

She will be missed so much but her music, her kindness, and the joy she brought to so many people will continue to live on in our home. I hope my kids grow up loving her as much as I do.

I like to think Dolly is having a sweet reunion in Heaven with Carl and all of her loved ones. And somehow, it makes her passing a little easier knowing my dad is up there with her, too.

RIP, Dolly.💗🦋
