How to Decide Between a Starter Home and a Forever Home

⭐ HELP ME REACH 100 GOOGLE REVIEWS BY THE 4TH OF JULY! 🇺🇸 ⭐

To my friends, family, clients, coworkers, and referral partners:

I have a big goal this year—reaching 100 Google Reviews by the 4th of July!🎆

If I've ever helped you buy or sell a home, answered a real estate question, provided advice, connected you with a local resource, or simply made a positive impact along the way, I would be honored if you would take a minute to leave me a Google review.

Your reviews help future clients feel confident when choosing a Realtor, and they mean the world to a small business owner like me. Every review helps support my business and allows me to continue serving our community here in Lawton and Southwest Oklahoma.

❤️ Thank you for your support, trust, and referrals over the years. I truly couldn't do this without all of you!

💭 Outward Chaos vs. Inner Chaos: What I Learned From This Conversation

When I asked where people go to reset when life feels overwhelming, I expected a variety of answers. What I didn't expect was the reminder that there is no "right" way to find peace.

Some find it tending to houseplants and creating a quiet sanctuary. 🌿

Some embrace a little retail therapy and enjoy the thrill of finding something that brings them joy. 🛍️😂

Others clean, practice self-care, and unapologetically schedule a weekly "bed rot" day to recharge. 🛏️✨

Many reconnect with themselves through gardening, nature, lakes, trails, and the simple act of stepping away from the noise. 🌱☀️

What stood out to me most is that while our reset buttons may look different, the goal is the same: finding a way back to ourselves when life becomes too loud.

The lesson I’m taking away is that rest doesn't have to look productive. It doesn't have to be earned. Whether it's five minutes with a cup of coffee, a walk by the water, a day in the garden, or an afternoon doing absolutely nothing, we all need moments that help us quiet the inner chaos.

Thank you to everyone who shared your routines, habits, and honest answers. It's a great reminder that taking care of ourselves isn't selfish—it's necessary. ❤️

So I'll leave you with one final question:

✨ What does your ideal reset day look like from start to finish?

How Market Timing Can Affect Your Listing Strategy
If you're thinking about selling your home, timing is probably one of the first things on your mind. Maybe you've heard spring is the best time to list. Maybe headlines about mortgage rates have you wondering whether it makes sense to wait.
The truth is, timing matters, but not always in the way people...

I asked a simple question about prioritizing ourselves, our families, and our clients, and the responses have been incredible.

What I've learned from this discussion is that success and balance are not opposites.

Some agents put God first, family second, and work third. Others shared that after years of coaching and personal growth, they learned to prioritize themselves so they could better serve everyone else. Some schedule every showing around family events, sports, birthdays, and date nights. Others take intentional vacations where the phone stays off and the laptop stays home.

But regardless of the order, there was one common theme:

✨ Boundaries matter. ✨

The agents who have been in this business for 10, 20, even 30+ years weren't telling stories about answering every phone call. They were talking about setting expectations, protecting family time, taking days off, communicating clearly, and working with clients who respect their time.

One comment really stuck with me:

"Success in the world cannot compensate for failure in the home."

As Realtors, we often tell ourselves we're working hard for our families. But if we're not careful, the people we're working so hard for end up getting what's left of us instead of the best of us.

I've also learned that:
🏡 Not every client is your client.
❤️ Boundaries don't make you less professional.
📱 Being responsive is not the same as being available 24/7.
✈️ Taking a vacation doesn't mean your business will fall apart.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family memories can't be rescheduled.
🤝 The right clients respect your time because they respect you.

This business is demanding, and I truly love what I do. But after reading all of your perspectives, I'm reminded that the goal isn't just to build a successful career. The goal is to build a successful life.

Thank you to everyone who shared your experiences, wisdom, and hard-earned lessons. I think this conversation is one our industry needs to have more often.

So I'll leave you with this:

What boundary have you set that made the biggest positive impact on your life and business?

👇 I'd love to hear your answer.

Practical Ways to Improve Garage Organization
The garage tends to become a catch-all space over time. Tools get piled in corners, seasonal items take over the floor, and before long, there's barely room to park a car. Getting it under control doesn't require a weekend-long overhaul — with the right approach, you can build a system that actually...

Last night I had the opportunity to attend Wine-Down Wednesday Realtor Event at Louis on the Lake, and it was exactly what every busy professional needs from time to time—a chance to slow down, connect, and enjoy great company.

From the beautiful waterfront views and relaxing atmosphere to the meaningful conversations with fellow real estate professionals and community partners, the evening was a wonderful reminder that our industry is built on relationships. It's always refreshing to step away from the daily hustle and spend time with people who share a passion for serving our communities.

A huge thank you to the organizers, sponsors, and everyone who came out to make the event such a success. Events like these strengthen connections, create new opportunities, and remind us why community matters so much.

Here's to building relationships, supporting local businesses, and finding time to unwind with amazing people. 🍷❤️
