🏡 Why should it matter if your agent invests in real estate themselves? Below I’ll describe some bits of knowledge Realtors bring when they also personally invest in real estate.
• Market Knowledge: Agents who invest in real estate typically have a deeper understanding of the market, including pricing trends, investment property potential, and neighborhood developments.
• Investment Mindset: An agent who invests is likely to have a keen eye for properties that offer good value and potential for appreciation or rental income.
• Experience with Different Transactions: Real estate investors often deal with a variety of transaction types, including fix-and-flips, rentals, and multi-family properties for clients who are interested in exploring different avenues of real estate beyond the standard residential purchase.
• Networking and Resources: Investing in real estate requires a network of contractors, attorneys, property managers, and other professionals and an agent-investor can provide clients access to this network.
• Personal Experience with the Process: An agent who has personally invested in real estate understands the challenges and rewards of real estate investment firsthand and can offer practical advice on negotiating deals, managing properties, and navigating the financial aspects of real estate investment.
🎬 Bottom line….Agents that also invest look at buying and selling different. Not just, does the home “feel” right. But do the numbers work, where to add value, and rental potential in the future. Owning a home has a lot of benefits beyond living comfortably and having an agent with that type of perspective can help you and your family benefit long after getting settled.
