Fall is my favorite season to work in Davis County real estate. It is not because it is easy. It is because it
is honest.

You have probably heard the phrase marry the home, date the rate. Here is what it actually means for a
Davis County buyer this fall.

The home is the long decision. School district, commute, the yard, the neighborhood, the shape of your
kitchen when you cook dinner. That does not change with the market.

The rate is the short one. Whatever you lock in this month you can refinance later when rates drop, and
they will eventually drop. Refinancing is a phone call. Finding the right home when it goes back on the
market in three years is a lot harder.
