🏡 **Worried we’re headed for another 2008? Let’s look at the numbers.**

A lot of buyers and sellers are holding back right now because they’re worried about another housing crash. But today’s market looks very different.

📉 **In 2008:**
Homeowner equity and mortgage debt were nearly equal. If homeowners hit a rough patch, many had very little equity to fall back on.

📈 **Today:**
🏠 Homeowner Equity: **$34.9 TRILLION**
💰 Mortgage Debt: **$14.4 TRILLION**

That’s a BIG difference.

Today, many homeowners have significant equity built up in their homes. If they needed to sell, they may have options and a financial cushion that many homeowners simply didn’t have in 2008.

**This isn’t 2008. Today’s housing market has a much stronger foundation.**
