🚨 Did you purchase your home in the past year?

You have until 4/30 to file your homestead exemption with WCAD which is very important to limit the amount of taxable value year after year.

❓Did your appraised value go down, yet your taxes are going up?

Keep in mind that taxable value and appraised value are different. It is possible, that (for example) your homes appraised value is $500k. BUT your taxable value (b/c you have a homestead exemption) is only $350k. The taxable value will increase to $350k + 10%. It can increase year after year till it meets the appraised value.

😳 Did you move out of your home in CPTC but kept it to rent and now your taxes shot up?

If you purchased another home, then you will remove your homestead exemption from your CPTC house. In the example above, if you perviously paid taxes on $350k (b/c it was your homestead) you will now pay taxes on the full appraised value of $500k.

2019.

2019 was a challenging year for me professionally. I lost someone within my company who was my biggest cheerleader- both at work and at life outside of work. He was one of the best bosses I’ve ever had and one of the reasons I’ve been with the same brokerage for 14 years.

Last Friday, we celebrated at our award ceremony honoring those who climbed to the top in 2019. Despite the challenges, I was recognized at the #1 Top Producer for WTA Realty and am really proud of this one. I think Bryan Tindall would be too.

In addition....My office also KILLED IT and was recognized as the most profitable office, out of the 9 offices in the company. 🏆 I am so proud of my team! ❤️ They come in day in and day out and CRUSH IT. They are some of the hardest working people I know, and they do it ALL with a smile. There’s a REASON they were voted the #1 Apartment Locator by the Austin Chronicle.
It’s because.... THEY. TRULY. ARE.

So now it’s on to 2020. Time to do it all over again. This marks my 15th year in this biz, and I am just as on 🔥 for it as I was on day one.
