MYTH 1: You need a large down payment.
Many qualified VA buyers can purchase with no down payment, as long as the price doesn’t exceed the home’s appraised value.

MYTH 2: No down payment means monthly mortgage insurance.
VA-backed loans don’t require private mortgage insurance, which can make a meaningful difference in the monthly payment.

MYTH 3: You can only use your VA loan benefit once.
The benefit may be used again after selling or refinancing a home previously purchased with a VA-backed loan.

There may be a one-time VA funding fee, although some borrowers are exempt. That’s why it’s important to review your individual eligibility and numbers with an experienced VA lender.
