You have choice when it comes to the real estate professional you select to guide you through the home sale process. I believe you deserve someone experienced, someone trusted, someone real - not Artificial.
It's been troubling to see all the ways in which Artificial Intelligence has forced itself into our daily lives over the past few years, to the point now that it's nearly impossible to trust the realness of anything you see online and there is a growing dependence on AI in society for tasks, big and small, including the things that make us most human, like writing, learning, and design.
Sure, there is a place for AI within the tech industry, and there are plenty of ways it can help developers automate and improve digital tools. But with more and more evidence of the rise of AI contributing to job displacement and the risks that sprawling, electricity-thirsty data centers powering AI pose to our environment, water supply, power grid, and property values, combined with hardly any regulation or guardrails, I am not yet convinced that mass-market, generative AI as it exists now and the direction it's heading is a net-positive resource for our communities.
AI is being pushed in the real estate industry, too, with tools to generate "instantaneous" market analysis reports, write full property descriptions from images along, create digitally-enhanced photos and misleading marketing materials, and integrate AI-powered chatbots that answer clients' calls, messages, and emails on behalf of agents.
I don't use those or any AI-powered tools in my real estate practice and never have, because I believe my clients have chosen to trust me with their business because of my unique knowledge and expertise of local real estate gathered over 10 years of experience in Southwest Virginia. That trust is something I take very seriously. My clients deserve my real time, real attention, and real abilities, not any Artificial replacement. I can't promise that I will never make mistakes, but I will pledge my focused attention, distinct experience, and an individualized approach to each and all my clients.
