Here's a review from a customer with a mobile home park. They had a very large leak in a well water system that feeds the park. We knew that meant the pumps for the well system might burn up from running nonstop, so we squeezed Justin's job in the next morning. Below is Justin's feedback:

Fantastic company! We had an unexpected leak in our water system. They arrived exactly when they said they would and located a leak for us that was quickly becoming a huge problem by the second. Reliable made sure I understood what was going on and made sure all my questions and concerns were addressed during the locating process. I highly recommend Reliable Leak Detection. They were very professional, super polite and we will definitely use them again in the future if needed. Thank you again gentlemen.

We received more feedback today, from a repeat customer. "This was the second time they have come out to help us determine the location of a water leak. The first time was to locate an under ground leak outside, which they did. The second time was to troubleshoot why our water bill is still high after the fix. This appears to be a separate issue. They checked everything thoroughly (twice) and helped us determine what our next steps will be. They are respectful of our time and our property. Both Brandt and James are very knowledgeable and honest. Anytime we have a water leak, they will be the people we turn to. We highly recommend without reservation."

They have a complex problem where street fluctuation causes the water meter to move back and forth. Unfortunately, the meter only reads the inward flow, not the outward. We have a special fix for that problem and are looking forward to hearing about that after they receive their next water bill.

Just wanted to share our most recent leak detection feedback from one of our customers in Lebanon, Ohio.

"Brandt and James were awesome to work with. Brandt discussed the situation with me on the phone and walked me through some preliminary diagnostics to understand what was going on. James showed up on time, explained what he was doing throughout the process, gave honest assessments and answered our many questions. The location was marked and the plumber had no problem finding and repairing the leak. They definitely made a stressful situation much easier to navigate. Highly recommended."

We love what we do and love when our customers provide feedback on our jobs.

Here's a review we received on Google. "I was very encouraged reading other reviews to see that the community is very aware of the quality of service and care provided by Brandt and his team. We had very strange usage patterns that he helped us to diagnose and continuously provided guidance and support as we tried our best not to pull our hair out. He continued to support after his 'official' work on-site was done analyzing our data and helping us to navigate interactions with the utility company. This man cares! 5+++ stars!"

This is our reply: "Thank you for your kind review Spencer! Your job was very unique! When James arrived at your home, he found that the meter was moving a small amount, and that the small leak was definitely inside your home, and then after checking everything possible, found that your Reverse Osmosis filter was using water. Once that was turned off, no water usage was found, indicating that something wasn't adding up. The water usage charts that you sent me showed considerable fluctuating water usage patterns, almost always associated with toilet leaks, but after our trials with turning off the valves on your toilets overnight and the new water usage charts showing significant usage over that night, I knew that couldn't be your toilets and that we needed to look at the next tier of challenging leak detection issues. Then, through the many emails and texts that you and I shared, (longest text thread I've ever had :-))we were finally able to narrow it down to three possible very abnormal possibilities. When the first two didn't add up, our discussion about talking to the water company about their meter transmitters being swapped was the only item I could think of. When I received your text saying that you had confirmed with the water works that the transmitter was the problem, it made me smile to know that this incredibly frustrating situation for you and your wife was finally solved! For us at Reliable Leak Detection, nothing makes us happier than to work on complex problems and come up with answers. We work with many homeowners such as yourself as well as plumbing companies and property managers and consider it a privilege to do what we do. Our combined experience level of 12 years as well as my 20 years of plumbing and fire protection design and 6 years of plumbing project management and estimating provides a perfect background to assist our clients with the best information possible in the leak detection field."

What an exciting day! James' first day on his own! He has worked with Reliable Leak Detection, LLC for over a year now. I feel that it's critical to train employees very well so that their efforts are a direct copy of what our clients have seen out of our company for the last 10 years.

As we continue to grow I will be picking up a good amount of our jobs and will still be involved in the more complex ones. Thanks to all our plumber friends and clients who have supported our efforts over those 10 years!

Today was the 10 year anniversary of the first leak detection job for my company that I began in August of 2013. I remember being nervous and hoping everything would work out. Well, 10 years later, Reliable Leak Detection is a two-man company. I work with James, who joined last year and has been in training and will be going out on his own jobs soon! I wanted to train him for a full year so that he's able to handle just about any job with full confidence.
We have a tremendous amount of respect for the plumbers who trust their clients with us and for our clients with who we work directly. Every job has to be the best we can do. Thanks to everyone who has supported us the last 10 years! We appreciate your business!

We were called out to an emergency leak detection over in Anderson Township this morning. The plumbers had started digging at a wet spot and were almost 4ft down with no results. They had made what would sometimes be a good choice to dig there, but upon discussing the situation, realized that the line could have been anywhere within a 15 ft area. We performed a leak detection and within an hour they had a clear understanding of where the leaking pipe was and could quit speculating and start repairing the leak right away. They really appreciated the help and I told them I was going to blog about the situation, to help homeowners understand that saving money with a plumber digging at the wet spot doesn't always work out. This frequently winds up costing more because leak detectors aren't usually able to come immediately. I texted the owner to see how the leak repair went and he said "Went good after you showed up"! We were called out to a leak detection at a home in the Mason West Chester area. The water leak was so huge that the local water company should have turned the water off at the meter. The meter indicated that the water leak was flowing at 15 gallons per minute!! That's the equivalent of having 3 bathtubs running full blast! You could actually hear the water roar at the inside of the foundation wall. The plumber, Ben Franklin Plumbing was able to do the excavation the next day.
I wanted to do this blog to show that even with a massive water leak such as this, you can still get some flow inside the home.
Many of my customers mention that they don’t think they have a water leak because they can’t feel any difference in water pressure. To put that into perspective, most leaks are under ½ gallon per minute (gpm). The average water service is ¾” in size and provides 20-30 gallons per minute at roughly 60-80 psi. Larger water service lines obviously allow for even more flow and pressure. So, in other words, a normal leak of 1/2 gpm or smaller isn’t able to be noticed when the main line brings in that much water.
To show this, I ran a video showing how much water was still able to flow inside a home with a 15 gpm leak. While the bathtub took a while to fill up, this still shows that a decent amount of water pressure was available at that rate of flow.
If you have a high water bill or have a wet spot in your yard, call Reliable Leak Detection at 513-488-6234. We have a large arsenal of leak detection equipment, as well as over 10 years of experience and advanced training to find any water leak!
