Katie has been selected by the National Association of Home Builders to join its Leadership Academy, a prestigious program designed to prepare the next generation of housing industry leaders.

Katie McLaughlin of Leeds, Al has been selected to participate in the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) 2026 Leadership Academy, a competitive professional development program focused on preparing industry leaders to play an active role in shaping the future of the home building industry and NAHB.
The Leadership Academy provides participants with a deeper understanding of NAHB’s structure and priorities while helping them strengthen leadership skills, expand institutional knowledge, and refine their individual leadership approach. Through a blend of educational programming and peer collaboration, participants gain exposure to the many facets of leadership within the housing industry.
“We’re proud to continue investing in the development of our future leaders through the Leadership Academy,” said NAHB Chairman Buddy Hughes, a home builder and developer from Lexington, N.C. “Programs like this ensure that NAHB remains strong, innovative, and well-positioned to address the challenges facing our industry.”
The program will launch with an in-person kickoff during the 2026 NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Orlando and conclude with graduation at the 2027 IBS. Throughout the year, participants will engage in a mix of in-person and virtual sessions featuring NAHB leadership, industry experts, and guest speakers. Katie McLaughlin is one of 15 participants selected from an extensive pool of accomplished applicants to take part in the 2026 Leadership Academy cohort.
