Today I received this commemorative plaque recognizing my feature in VoyageKC Magazine, and it serves as a reminder of how far the journey has come.

When I started Metro One Home Inspection, my goal was simple: provide honest, thorough inspections and help people make informed decisions about one of the largest investments of their lives. What began as a small business has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of, serving homeowners, homebuyers, and real estate professionals throughout Missouri.

Being featured in VoyageKC was an honor in itself, but receiving this plaque makes the experience feel even more tangible. It’s a reminder that hard work, perseverance, continuous learning, and a commitment to serving others do not go unnoticed.

I’m grateful to every client who trusted me with their inspection, every real estate professional who referred me, and every friend, family member, and mentor who encouraged me along the way. Your support has played a significant role in Metro One Home Inspection’s success.

Found a hidden hole under the shingles, exposed nail heads everywhere, a nail poking right through a shingle, and a repair that looks like it was color-matched by a legally blind raccoon. 🦝🏠

This is why home inspections matter. Small issues can turn into expensive repairs when they’re hidden beneath the surface.

Found a gas can nozzle wrapped around a bathtub faucet water line because apparently the tub spout was 6 inches too long. At this point I’m just doing inspections in a Home Depot clearance aisle.

Kept finding more.
Then the AC condenser was gone.

Condenser lines cut.
That was the last thing.

Tested the GFCI outlet today…

Pressed the test button and the reset button launched across the room.

I’ve seen outlets trip before.
Never seen one eject a passenger.

Just another normal day doing home inspections.

Today’s inspection feature:
An antenna chained to the chimney liner…
Literally pulling it apart.

The chimney crown is shattered.
Gaps wide open into the flue.

This isn’t “normal wear.”
This is slow-motion structural surrender.

Always look up.

Flashing?
Not sealed. Not layered properly. Not doing its job.

Water doesn’t need a big opening.
Just one bad detail.

This is how “small roof issues” turn into interior damage.

Always check the flashing.
