2026 Design Trend: Warmth!!🔥 Gone are the days of designing with gray and black & white. In 2026, people are craving warmth. Today's designers are delivering on that with color, layers, and natural elements. Wood is a terrific way to add warmth to any space.
Thanks to the genius creativity of , we were able to reinvent our family room and kitchen to create an updated, cozy but bright space, without a full remodel! Jennifer Jenkins, designer extraordinaire, repurposed our existing built-ins and used them as a base for the beautiful, new bookcases. By adding pine paneling to the back of the bookcases, and pine moulding around the room, Jennifer was able to create the coziness of a one-story space while enjoying the grandness of a two-story room. She updated the decor by adding rich colors in the pillows and window treatments, re-covering the existing armchairs, swapping out pillows and lamps/light fixtures, an adding new tables and a rug. The result is divine cozy elegance!
In the kitchen, Jennifer created a more social gathering space by removing the two-level island countertop, and replacing it with one-level butcher block. It makes such a difference! We also swapped out light fixtures and had the cabinets painted a perfect shade of cream. Walls were painted to match the cabinets, and new bar stools with wood accents completed the inviting, happy space. I couldn't be more thrilled🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗.
