I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with Leslie on both the sale of her home and the purchase of her new one. The best part of my career is getting to work closely with people, and Leslie has made this experience truly enjoyable.

In Utah, our real estate landscape is shaped by a very young average homebuyer age. We rank 4th nationally in terms of the youngest average home buyer. Over the past decade, much of our housing inventory has come from new construction, often designed with younger buyers in mind, such as multi-story homes and townhomes.

This can make it more challenging to find homes that offer features many buyers prefer later in life, such as single-level living. With a little patience and persistence, we were able to find Leslie the perfect home. So excited for her and this next chapter.

Full circle moments are the best ones

Back in high school, Corbin Sutton and I were lucky to be able to play high school baseball together. I threw out my arm early in the season and it became kind of a throw away year for me sport wise. One of the best things I got out of that year though were the friendships that I formed. Fast forward to today, and I’ve been lucky enough to be able to stay in touch with and help Corbin and Rhiannon buy and sell a few homes.

A handful of years ago, Corbin & Rhiannon bought an off-market duplex—lived in one side, rented the other, and rolled up their sleeves to fully renovate it. They crushed the remodel and absolutely nailed the investment side of it. I usually tell people to buy and hold for the long haul, but Corbin and Rhiannon just sold their duplex, walked away with a massive amount of cash, which is now affording them the opportunity to start their own business — Major League Plumbing (Diggin’ the baseball nod)

Corbin has been grinding as a plumber for years, and now officially licensed as a Master Plumber. I can’t say enough good things about Corbin. He does tons of work for me on my rentals. I’m excited to share that I am now a Certified Divorce Real Estate Expert (CDRE®) — one of only three active CDREs in the entire state of Utah.

I didn’t set out to specialize in divorce real estate, but early in my career, I have witnessed too many families suffer massive avoidable losses: homes sold under value, missed equity opportunities, and preventable foreclosures. Divorce is hard enough and too many divorcing couples come out of divorce suffering a massive loss to their nest egg setting them back years and sometimes decades financially, often times leaving the kids with less opportunity and less stability. Utah is lucky to have many professionals in the family law community that are committed to creating stability to families that are experiencing everything but that. I am excited to play a role in creating that stabilty.

As a CDRE®, I now offer a strategic, neutral, and deeply informed approach to guide divorcing homeowners through one of life’s hardest transitions.
The CDRE certification is rigorous—I was waitlisted for 18 months to get into the program even while having sold well over 100 homes in my short real estate career. It involved months of training through the Ilumni Institute with a faculty of family law attorneys, mediators, and real estate professionals. CDREs are trained to:

- Mitigate conflict
- Preserve equity
- Educate attorneys and clients
- Navigate complex divorce listings
