Wonder what the Tailhook Association is? 🇺🇸

It’s a nonprofit for the carrier aviation community! Navy and Marines! The aviators and aircrew who fly off the boat. Named for the hook on the back of a carrier jet that catches the wire on landing. This week is their annual symposium!

First clips you’ll see: donations from people and companies across America for those who serve. Then the floor — Shield AI, defense systems, cockpit simulators you can strap into, and custom made patches that are works of art in their own right and so much more. This is seriously a small glimpse!

“What’s the minimum credit score for a VA loan?”
I get this question constantly, so I went straight to a lender for the answer.

Faith Sierra is a Loan Officer with Team Engle at Vero Mortgage, one of the top lending teams in California. Her answer: most lenders are looking in the 580–620 range.
But here’s the part most people miss. VA itself doesn’t publish a minimum FICO score. Those numbers are lender overlays. What VA actually leans on is residual income. The money a borrower has left over each month after the mortgage, debts, taxes and utilities are covered. Groceries, gas, the real-life stuff.
That’s why a veteran carrying a little more debt or sitting at a lower score can still get approved on a file that wouldn’t clear conventional guidelines.
If you’re VA-eligible and someone already told you no, it may be worth a second look with a lender who knows the product.
