About Us
Brown Midwest Construction Services is a Kansas based company with over 70 years of history in the Kansas City construction industry.
Mike Brown, owner, is a 3rd generation general contractor contractor and developer. Mike’s career consists of over 2,000 commercial and residential structures built, synthetic and natural turf athletic fields and stadiums, tenant finish, historic renovation, fire and water damage reconstruction and development of numerous residential communities.
Mike Brown established the Johnson County Contractor Licensing program to raise the bar of quality construction. He served as the 2007 President of the Homebuilder’s Association of Greater Kansas City and served over a decade on the KCHBA Board of Directors and the National Association of Home Builders in Washington, DC.
In 2016, Mike was elected and served as a Johnson County Commissioner representing over 100,000 constituents.
In 2022, Mike was a candidate for Kansas Secretary of State. While not garnering a win in this race, Mike earned the trust and votes of nearly 200,000 Kansans.
Mike, a 6th generation Kansan, lives in Overland Park with his wife, Kristi. Together they have five grown children.
