There are few things more patriotic than protecting the public, something that’s part & parcel to the profession of appraisers. Our CEO, Cindy Chance, says it best:

“On this 4th of July weekend, I’m thinking of all the appraisers who protect our economy. You uphold the public trust by fulfilling your defined role excellently, by insisting that your independent voices be heard, by committing to education and community, and by putting yourself in situations you might prefer not to be in—sometimes telling someone something they don’t want to hear—because it is the right thing to do.

Thank you also for speaking up, for engaging in civil discourse, and exercising your rights under the constitution to address your concerns about the profession and the ways you are experiencing increasing difficulty in meeting your obligations to protect the public trust in the face of economic and systemic pressures.

We appreciate you and we thank you. We are here to support you in your sacred responsibility to the public. Each of us has a role to play in fulfilling the ideals that our country was built on, and this can only be done in an open atmosphere that encourages the free exchange of ideas.”
