January 23, 2026 - Lewisburg Borough Winter Weather Statement

As the various winter weather forecasts have begun to agree, Lewisburg Borough is likely to be impacted by a major snow event this weekend into early next week. Although the forecast snowfall amounts still vary by model, we expect the total accumulation will require our Public Work’s Crew to remove snow from the parking lanes and parking spaces along Borough streets. Our parking lane snow removal efforts are a complex process involving several pieces of heavy equipment, multiple dump trucks, and Borough vehicles closing roadways for periods of time. For us to successfully and safely remove snow from the parking lanes, the streets must be empty of all vehicles. Accordingly, the Borough street “No Parking” restrictions will be strictly enforced by the Buffalo Valley Regional Police Department. Vehicles in violation of the “No Parking” restrictions will be ticketed and towed.

Although the timing of the storm and the total accumulation of snow may require changes to our schedule, our plan currently is…

Sunday, January 25, 2026 and Monday, January 26, 2026 – removal of snow from the travel lanes of Borough streets.

Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 12:01 am - 7:00 am - Market Street. Lewisburg Borough’s Public Works Crew will be removing snow from Market Street between the hours of 12:01 am and 7:00 am on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Parking is always prohibited on Market Street between midnight and 7:00 am every day.

Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 7:00 am to noon - Third Street, Fourth Street, Fifth Street, Loomis Street, University Avenue, and Walker Street.

Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 7:00 am to noon – Sixth Street, Seventh Street, Eighth Street, Pine Street, Spruce Street, and St. Catharine Street between Seventh Street and Pine Street.

Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 7:00 am to noon – St. Louis Street, St. Catharine Street from Front Street to Seventh Street, St. George Street, Malcolm Street, Barton Street, Mill Street, and Taylor Street.

Friday, January 30, 2026 from 7:00 am to noon – St. John Street, St. Mary Street, St. Anthony Street, Beck Street, and streets west of U.S. Route 15.

Monday, February 2, 2026 from 7:00 am to noon – Water Street, Front Street, Second Street, Brown Street, and St. George Street from Front Street to Second Street.

Please do not re-park along any of these streets until directed to do so by Borough staff as multiple passes of equipment to clear the snow from and apply salt to the parking lanes will likely be required. If you happen to be traveling through the snow removal work areas, please be careful, obey all temporary road closures, and watch for workers.

Please also stay alert for changes to the anticipated schedule listed above. If necessary, Lewisburg Borough will update its page with new information as soon as possible.

Lewisburg Borough Public Announcement – 8/7/24

North Shore Railroad Plans Maintenance Activities along the Railroad Tracks in Lewisburg Borough during August 2024

Lewisburg Borough has been notified by North Shore Railroad that they will be undertaking two major maintenance activities along the railroad tracks in the Borough during the month of August 2024:

(1) On or around Wednesday, August 14, 2024, North Shore Railroad will be tamping new stone along the railroad track ties from Borough boundary to Borough boundary.

(2) From Monday, August 19, 2024 – Friday, August 23, 2024, North Shore Railroad will be replacing the railroad track crossing at St. Mary Street in Lewisburg Borough. St. Mary Street from North Fifth Street to North Seventh Street will be closed to vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian through traffic for this week. The businesses along St. Mary Street will still be accessible during construction, but all traffic will be prevented from crossing the railroad tracks on St. Mary Street.
