We’re so excited to be part of the Ronceverte River Festival Pet Parade on Saturday, June 13th, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Shelter #2!

Bring your favorite furry friend, dress them up, and come enjoy a fun, tail-wagging morning with us. 🐶🐱✨

📋 Want to save time the morning of the parade?
You’re welcome to print off the flyer/registration form, fill it out ahead of time, and bring it with you on parade day!

🕤 Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.
The parade will start at 10:00 a.m.

Please make sure a parent or guardian reads and agrees to the parade rules before participating. This event is open to children ages 4 to 12 years old, and all pets must be leashed, in a lead line, or safely contained.

Let’s make it a paw-some parade full of smiles, costumes, community fun, and happy pets! 🐾💙

Kitten season is here, and we are desperately in need of fosters for the tiny kittens currently in our care. 💔🐾

The shelter environment is not the best place for fragile little ones to grow and thrive. Getting them into foster homes gives them their very best chance at staying healthy, socialized, and loved while they wait for forever homes. Every kitten placed in foster also opens up much-needed space so we can continue helping more animals in need throughout our community.

We cannot do this alone. We truly need our community to step up and help care for these babies during this critical time.

The good news? We provide everything you need — food, supplies, and we are 100% responsible for all medical care. All you need to provide is a safe, loving temporary home and a little time.

Definitely one of my favs😋

For one of West Virginia’s last legit "small-town drive-in" eateries…Jim’s Drive In in Lewisburg makes for an excellent place to grab a bite and a milkshake! You pull into a parking spot, roll your window down, and a carhop walks right up to take your order. They stay busy, especially at lunch, and they’re cash only. You can eat in your car or at the outdoor picnic tables. Burgers are the star, especially the Ranch Burger and Double Ranch Burger, along with fresh hand-cut fries. The fried green tomato sandwich with bacon and provolone is a local favorite. Shakes come in a huge range of flavors, from classic chocolate and vanilla to banana. They also bake pies and cobblers, and the staff even bring dog biscuits for pups riding along. One of WV's best local stops right here!
