Job Description:
- Manage estimating team and schedule
- Take ownership of bid process to assemble accurate, competitive, and complete bids
- Act as a ‘salesman’ to build and strengthen new and existing client relationships
- Interact with clients to build rapport and gain a clear understanding of their needs on each project
- Attend meetings with both clients and AALC team members
- Read, interpret, analyze landscape/irrigation plans and specifications to accurately understand all elements of the project, stay current on project documents through evaluation of addendum’s and other client notifications
- Assign tasks to estimating team members to achieve department goals
- Develop relationships with sub-contractors and suppliers
- Track progress, follow up with clients, win 7-10% of jobs bid
- Create new and innovative processes to continually improve the AALC estimating department
- Work with operations team to ‘kick off’ projects (submittals, pre-con), along with assessing on going changes to project documents (change orders)
Skills/Qualifications:
- 3-5 years estimating commercial landscape/irrigation projects
- Outgoing personality and professional appearance
- Strong communication skills both written/typed and verbal
- Proficient in the use of technology (computer/tablet, MS Word/Excel, cloud storage, OST)
- Advanced knowledge, with the ability to read and interpret construction plans (details, scale, notes, etc.) and other project documentation
- Proven ability to lead with a professional demeanor in adverse situations
- Organized and punctual with the desire to juggle an ever-changing schedule
- Valid driver’s license
Job Details:
- This position reports to our Lewisville TX location and will be responsible for the profitable and accurate completion of large landscape/irrigation bids
- This position reports to the Owner
- Typical hours are 8:00 AM to 5 PM
- Pay for this position is an annual salary with bonus and incentives – benefits available after 60 days (health insurance 50% employer paid and 401K with match)
