๐MY HEART IS WITH THE OFFICERS AND THEIR FAMILIES
My heart is with the officers who were shot here in Columbia, SC, and with their families.
One officer sadly lost his life, leaving behind a family who now has to face an unimaginable loss.
๐ If you find it in your heart to donate, please consider helping his family during this difficult time.
And please donโt forget the officer who survived.
Surviving something like this doesnโt mean the ordeal is over. There can be surgeries, rehabilitation, pain, physical challenges and emotional trauma that can follow for a very long time โ sometimes for the rest of a personโs life.
His family is facing that journey right alongside him.
If youโre able to donate, please do. Even a small amount can help. If you canโt, sharing this post is another way to show your support.
๐ Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers โ the family grieving the loss of their loved one and the family standing beside an officer who now has a long road ahead.
They show up for us.
Now itโs our turn to show up for them. โค๏ธ๐

In the wake of the tragic line-of-duty death of Officer Christopher DeLong and the injury of Officer David Dymock, many members of our community have asked how they can support our officers and their families.
For those wishing to contribute, donations may be made through Serve & Connectโs official Tragedy Response Program. This program provides support to law enforcement families and agencies following critical incidents and line-of-duty tragedies.
We are deeply grateful for the prayers, messages, acts of kindness and support extended to the Columbia Police Department during this incredibly difficult time.
