I was honored this week to receive my 20 year pin from LBAR. It has been a true blessing over the years to help families realize their dreams of homeownership and wealth building.

Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® contributes $50K to the Team Kentucky Fund

At a recent Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors meeting, it was approved to contribute $50K to the Team Kentucky Fund, developed by Governor Andy Beshear to deliver financial aid to those severely financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Aid provided by the fund, according to both the Governor and Lieutenant Governor Jacqueline Coleman, will help cover mortgages, rent, utilities and other needs after they have had their lives turned upside down by this devastating crisis.

Change is the Only Constant
The only constant in life is change, and the changes over the past 30 days have been constant. How we communicate, how we get our food, how we interact with each other, how we spend our time as well as who we spend our time with. Some are angry about the choices or lack of choices we have been given, while others are discovering a new lifestyle they are embracing.

What is the new normal? It’s different for each of us, but for many, the new normal is a slower pace, more time with family members, more time to read a book, more time to notice the flower blooming in the spring and a desire to commit to a healthier lifestyle. We value health and the health of those we love. We have learned that teachers are underpaid and that truck drivers keep the world moving forward. We have a new appreciation of those who risk becoming ill to care for those in need.

Now is the time to stay connected with those you love and to treasure those relationships. When you have friends, family, siblings and neighbors that you can chat with, laugh with, talk to and share with, you are among the richest in the world.

Something to Think About
In this time of constant change, don’t forget to care for yourself: your physical self and your emotional self.

Weekly Activity
Remember to thank those who continue to serve during a time of great risk: Our first responders, our health care workers, our food workers, those who deliver food and supplies and the truck drivers who keep America moving.

There is nothing in this life that can destroy you but yourself. Bad things happen to everyone, but when they do, you can't just fall apart and die. You have to fight back. If you don't, you're the one who loses in the end. But if you do keep going and fight back, you win. - Alexandra Monir

The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That's real glory. That’s the essence of it. - Vince Lombardi Jr.

However bad life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. Where there’s life, there’s hope. - Stephen Hawking

Hang on to your hat. Hang on to your hope. And wind the clock, for tomorrow is another day. - E.B. White
